fermacell® 25mm dry screed board (2E22) was fitted above underfloor heating panels to offer excellent response times for the underfloor heating allowing a reduction in flow rate and heat output in order to achieve ambient temperatures. fermacell® dry screed board has a low resistance value which allows the heat to pass through easily and as it is only 25 mm the heat has a very short distance to travel.

fermacell® flooring was used to replace wet screed as it reduces additional moisture to the building, reduces the height of the floor build up and crucially, the dry time. In line with British Standards a 70 mm screed would take 100 days before it is fully dry, fermacell® floor is fitted dry allowing floor finishes to be fitted within 24 hours after installation. 

Speed was the crucial driver on this project, with typical install times of between 10-14 minutes per m2 and no drying time allowed the aggressive build program to be kept.
