fermacell flooring: Private refurb extension

JK Floorheating have installed fermacell^® flooring for a private residence who wanted to add energy-efficient underfloor heating to their kitchen/diner extension. 

Because of the existing substrates, what should have been a simple specification was made more complex with three different type of floor constructions: old chipboard on joists, new chipboard on new joists and a new extension 100mm PIR on block and beam. The solution was to fast find a single system that could easily provide sufficient heat through the entire floor. 

Using fermacell^®, it took less than a day to lay the board and was easily fitted over the different types of floor substrates. Once fitted, JK Floorheating was able to install the heating pipes directly under the surface of the floor using their JK floor grinder, allowing termperature to rise much faster so the room temperature could be controlled much more accurately.  

The homeowners were left happy with the finished result and was particularly impressed with their local stockist Southern Timber and installers JK Floorheating for suppling and installing fermacell UFH system within a very tight turnaround time.
