fermacell®  fibre gypsum is a multi-purpose building board that offers a space saving dry lining solution, available in a range of sizes and thicknesses, with both square and tapered edges.

From wall to floor design, one board does it all, minimising wet trades on site, increasing design flexibility and speeding up the program times whilst exceeding Building Regulations.

The ultimate design flexibility

Dry construction provides a great alternative to blockwork, and has revolutionised interior finishing. Modern, high-performance partition systems like ours offer almost unlimited possibilities for the creative design of interiors with variable floor plans during construction & afterwards.

Our partitions can be placed anywhere in the room and are easy to reconfigure as required. Due to the relatively low weight of drywall construction, no major structural measures need to be taken to improve
static strength.

Performs better than plasterboard

fermacell® fibre gypsum boards offer a wealth of advantages compared to conventional interior dry lining such as plasterboard.

Our boards offer the optimum acoustic, fire and impact performance. Using fermacell® dry lining reduces the need for pattressing, with a high hanging strength that ensures room layouts are future proofed. Our slimline wall boards also save important wall space to maximise room yields.

One board does it all!

While conventional boards such as plasterboard require different product variants for different applications, fermacell® fibre gypsum boards are equally suitable for wall and ceiling constructions and can be used universally as a standard board, fire protection, sound insulation and moisture-proof board.

Strong & firm

Our performance boards are ideal for use in both steel and timber frame construction. The innovative formulation of fermacell® fibre gypsum boards ensures particularly high density and stability, with a high load-bearing capacity (up to 50 kg per fixing, 150kg per linear metre)

Strength wise, our dry lining systems outperform plasterboard and blockwork.

Quick & easy to install

As fermacell®  fibre gypsum boards already meet or exceed most Building Regulations requirements in the areas of sound insulation, fire resistance and statics with reduced partition thicknesses, this means less material used on site (often one layer instead of two layers of plasterboard) and faster installation times.

Our boards also have the added benefit of being able to be installed before the building is water tight, to enable ease and speed of fitting.

Using fibre gypsum dry lining ensures significant time and cost savings, without having to make concessions in terms of quality or load-bearing capacity.

And that’s not all!  Our Fine Surface Treatment (FST) can also be used to finish the boards; a light skim or face fill with FST and your walls are ready to accept any covering - wallpaper, paint or tile - after just 45 minutes.

An environmentally friendly solution

fermacell® fibre gypsum boards are an important component for environmentally conscious and healthy construction. Our partitions have a high proportion of recycled materials and are made using natural materials (recycled paper, gypsum and water) without additional glues.

Our boards are virtually emission-free and do not contain any hazardous substances such as formaldehyde.

The sustainability credentials of fermacell® fibre gypsum boards have been confirmed by the Institute for Building Biology in Rosenheim with the IBR seal of approval, and also by the renowned Cologne eco Institute who have awarded us the "Low Emission Product" certificate.
